Gunnison River Float Trips: From put-in to take-out, float trips are a high action adventure. A custom driftboat or fully rigged raft will be your ticket to beautiful scenery, wildlife, and miles of Rocky Mountain trout water. Beginner to advanced anglers will appreciate the large casting decks, swivel seats, and lean bars that our boats have to offer. Fly fish private water that is only accessible by boat. Stop and walk-wade the productive public stretches. Catch and release lure trips with light tackle are a great way to get into the fish. Walk Wade Trips: Gunnison River Guides offer a vast variety of walk-wade trips on public and private water. We are extremely lucky to have over 2,500 square miles of public land in Gunnison county. The Gunnison, Taylor, and East rivers have excellent public stretches. There are Trophy Trout Fisheries both public and private. Catch "hogs" at the Taylor River Catch and Release or visit a private still water fishery. Maybe hiking to a remote stream or a secluded mountain lake high in the Rocky Mountains is more for you.
Blue Mesa Lake!
Blue Mesa Lake is very popular with fisherman summer and winter. A number of fish species are in the lake, including lake trout which grow to be very large trophy fish. In addition to fishing the lake offers all sorts of water recreation including boating, water skiing, sailing and wind surfing. There are two full service marinas available - Elk Creek Marina and Lake Fork Marina. Elk Creek Marina also offers Pappy's restaurant for a relaxing setting and great food. The National Park Service has a visitor's center at the marina which offers all sorts of information about the area. The lake is a great place for camping with park service campgrounds available, as well as a number of independent RV Parks |
