The Color of Snow – a Fundraiser exhibition-"The Color of Snow" is a community fundraiser exhibition for the Crested Butte Creative District, featuring hundreds of one-of-a-kind, 6"x6" artworks created by local artists and community members of all ages. The exhibition runs from November 14, 2025, to January 16, 2026, at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts. Each $25 purchase of a piece directly supports the district's programs.
Dec. 3 - 7:00 pm-Western Colorado University Holiday Concert-Doors 6pm | Show 7pm | Presented by: Western Colorado UniversityJoin us for an annual community-favorite concert presented by the Western Colorado University Music Program, the HOLIDAY GALA! Featuring a cozy assortment of wintertime selections performed by the Symphonic Band, Concert Choir, and Chamber Orchestra; this program is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
Dec. 4 7:00 pm- Fa la la la la, ha ha ha ha: A Holiday Musical Extravaganza!-Sarah Hanchar, Christine Riippi, and Guy Nelson join together to celebrate everyone’s favorite part of the winter season: those feel-good, made-for-TV holiday movies! Using their comedic storytelling and musical improvisational skills, they create a brand-new seasonal favorite right before your eyes. This holiday treat begins with a festive sing-along and culminates with a movie musical based on your suggestions. Join these Jingle Bells for some yuletide fun for the whole family. Auld Lang Syne? More like, New Song Time!Fa la la la la, Ha ha ha ha has been a holiday staple at Seattle’s Unexpected Productions since 2022. Sarah, Christine, and Guy are thrilled to bring this magical, musical, and delightfully unhinged show to Crested Butte.
Dec. 6 = Crested Butte Community Tree Lighting 4-6 p.m.- in front of 326 Elk Ave.
Dec. 13 = Mt Crested Butte Light up the Night 4-7 p.m.-This free community event features live music, Menorah and Christmas lightings, cookie decorating, photos with the Snow Queen and Santa, face painting, arts and crafts, firetruck bucket rides, a hot cocoa bar, and more!Attendees can use the Mountain Express town shuttle to get to the base area or free parking can be found at the main Crested Butte Mountain Resort parking lot. Please NO pets or outside alcohol. December 13: Irwin Brewing: Manic Focus- Crested Butte Public House -8-11 p.m. -Denver-based producer Manic Focus is an artist of many talents. As a magician, he uses sleight of hand to pull objects out of thin air. As an electronic artist, he executes similarly impossible sonic acts with his vibrant, genre-defying music. His unique style—defined by a fusion of electronic, funk, soul, and hip-hop—has earned him a devoted following captivated by his immersive studio trickery and creative spirit.
December 19: Irwin Brewing: The Fretliners- Crested Butte Public House -8-11 p.m. -
Dec. 19 - 7:00 pm -Mr. Sun Plays Ellington’s Nutcracker Acoustic supergroup Mr. Sun — featuring renowned fiddler Darol Anger, guitarist Grant Gordy, Scottish bassist Aidan O’Donnell, and mandolinist Joe Walsh — brings a genre-defying holiday performance to Crested Butte. Reimagining Duke Ellington’s jazz interpretation of The Nutcracker Suite, Mr. Sun blends acoustic mastery with inventive improvisation for a fresh take on this timeless classic. This special evening features support from the talented ‘Nobody Fancy’ the CBCS String Band, making it a celebration of community, creativity, and world-class musicianship. Known for their dynamic presence in the acoustic Americana music scene, Mr. Sun has captivated audiences at Wintergrass, Grey Fox, FreshGrass, and the IBMA conventions, earning acclaim for their innovative sound and exceptional artistry.
Dec. 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 26, 29, 31: Yurt Dinners!: Saturday, December 20th, Yurt Dinners -When the full moon rises, the Magic Meadows turn into a luminescent wonderland, with our back-country yurt nestled right in the middle. There, you can enjoy one of our gourmet yurt dinners; a five course meal in a spectacular setting. All are sold out but Dec. 21 and 22. Now open for Sunday Brunch from 10 to 2 pm!

New Years Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Watch from the upstairs deck at Butte 66 as Crested Butte's finest ski and snowboard instructors wind their way down the mountain during the torchlight parade. The fireworks show will start as the first instructors make their way into the base area. The best viewing area of the evening will be from the base area of the mountain on the Butte 66 deck.
