December 1: Pinnacle Orthopedics Community Race Series : 9:30-11:30 a.m.-The CB Nordic and Pinnacle Orthopedics Community Races are a fun way to get outside, get some exercise, meet new people, and challenge yourself. Each week is a different format with races ranging from 5K to 15K – and a 3k kids’ race. Accumulate points for each race you complete. The skier with the most points at the end will be crowned the series champion.
December 5: Cheers to the Season: Wine Tasting-12 | 05 @ 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm-A Festive Evening with Sommelier Tre Gerbitz-Join us for an evening at the Kinder Padon Gallery as we host a special wine-tasting experience with renowned sommelier Tre Gerbitz. Tre will be pouring a curated selection of his favorite wines, each chosen to complement the ambiance and artistry of the gallery.Enjoy a sneak preview of the highly anticipated Mother Rock gallery show, featuring artists of Crested Butte who are excited to showcase and reflect on what “Mother Rock” means to them through visual art. Cheers to a night of inspiration and elegance!
December 6: Irwin Brewing: Vincent Antone- Crested Butte Public House -8-11 p.m. -Vincent Antone (full name Vincent Antone Seidl) is an American producer and recording artist based in Austin, TX. He is a multi instrumentalist; playing guitar for over 20 years, Drums for 15, and Piano and Bass for 10. He has produced music for over 8 years now and has found a passion for combining elements of Dance music with all sorts of genres. His style runs from Future Funk, Hip Hop, Future Bass, House, Trap, and everything in between. His music is boundless, you can expect the unexpected, and because of this, there is something for everyone. In the live setting, Vince plays guitar and keys, while he is joined by powerhouse drummer Jose Gutierrez. Together these two put on an electrifying show that moves the audience in more ways than just dancing.
Dec. 5-Jan. 2= Mother Rock at the Center for the Arts, at the Kinder-Padon Gallery at the Center for the Arts. Reception: December 27 | 5-8pm-Over time, the nickname “Mother Rock” has been used to describe the iconic peak that reaches out above the small town of Crested Butte. Coming together for this invitational group show, featured artists of Crested Butte are excited to showcase and reflect on what “Mother Rock” means to them through visual art.
December 7: Santa night-Crested Butte Museum-Join us at the museum store to visit with Santa, decorate cookies, and make ornaments from 4pm – 6pm. Our gift store is open and stocked with lots of goodies for the holiday season. This is a free event for all, no pre-registration is required
December 12: Every Christmas Story Ever Told- Crested Butte Mountain Theater- The Southern-Fried Christmas Comedy!
December 14: Irwin Brewing: Consider the Source- Crested Butte Public House -8-11 p.m. -Public House presents Consider The Source with special guest Astro Bandits-Sci-fi fusion trio Consider the Source defy easy categorization. If intergalactic energy beings, upon their initiation into an order of whirling dervishes, built a pan-dimensional booty-shaking engine powered by psychedelic math…it would sound like a cut-rate CTS cover band. With their blend of progressive rock and improvisatory jazz, soaked in Indian and Middle Eastern styles, CTS blends disparate elements into an utterly original whole. A relentless touring schedule has earned them a fervent following around the world, with fans ranging from tie dye covered hippies to metalheads decked out in black. December 13/14: Nutcracker Ballet - 7-9 p.m. Center for the Arts-The Nutcracker -The Crested Butte School of Dance and Center for the Arts will present the 2nd annual Nutcracker [Rated CB] this winter! The classic story will have “CB-style” flair and many types of dance, from ballet and jazz to hip hop and aerial. Preschoolers through adult dancers will perform, making it a true community event. Enjoy a festive lobby experience, and take your photo with a life-size Nutcracker next to the holiday tree. Nutcracker [Rated CB] was 100% sold out in 2023, so be sure to get your tickets early this year!

Dec. 22-Live at the Center: Colorado Brass Holiday Concert-7-9 pm-A quintet from the Colorado Brass comes to CB on December 22 for some rousing holiday favorites! Bring the whole family to hear the bright sounds of the season echo through the halls.Colorado Brass is the state’s premier British-style brass band. The ensemble is comprised of thirty brass players and percussionists from all over Colorado. Members come to the band as professional musicians, music educators, students, and brass band enthusiasts. For this event, five brass players and a percussionist from the ranks of the Colorado Brass join us for the holidays!
December 21,22,23,26,28,29,30,31- Yurt Dinners -When the full moon rises, the Magic Meadows turn into a luminescent wonderland, with our back-country yurt nestled right in the middle. There, you can enjoy one of our gourmet yurt dinners; a five course meal in a spectacular setting. All are sold out but Dec. 21 and 22. Now open for Sunday Brunch from 10 to 2 pm!
December 27: Irwin Brewing: Fretliners the Winter Tour- Crested Butte Public House -8-11 p.m. -Public House presents : It is rare for there to exist a defining moment that changes the trajectory of four lives at once. But, clear as a lightning bolt in an open field, so electric was the moment The Fretliners first played together around a single microphone in the Cloverlick banjo shop barn one fateful evening, they knew they would be inseparable from that moment on.

December 28 = Polka Party - CB Museum from 5-7 p.m.; 331 Elk Ave.-Join us at the museum with Pete Dunda on the accordion to show off your best polka skills on December 28th from 5pm-7pm, festive outfits are encouraged! We will also be drawing winners for our HOLIDAY HISTORY RAFFLE tonight at 7pm!

December 31 - New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade! New Years Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Watch from the upstairs deck at Butte 66 as Crested Butte's finest ski and snowboard instructors wind their way down the mountain during the torchlight parade. The fireworks show will start as the first instructors make their way into the base area. The best viewing area of the evening will be from the base area of the mountain on the Butte 66 deck.
