And the Italian food inside the restaurant is the best! The River Bar is open every evening from 4pm begins summer solstice - June 20--through Labor Day. Pet friendly. Live music every Friday and Saturday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.  Cocktails and light bar snacks at 4pm and lighter River Bar dinner menu at 5pm. SEPTEMBER 6, Saturday 8:00am SCARP’S RIDGE Map & Info Course: From the Old Irwin Lodge, follow the Ridge Trail #70 for about 0.1 mile to the intersection with the Scarp Trail #421. Veer Right and climb up Scarp Trail #421 to the ridge. Look for a game / ridge trail on your right and proceed along the ridge to the summit of Mt. Emmons (Red Lady). Return along the same route. Distance: 8.0 miles (+2,261’) all on single track and ridge / game trails. This is an out and back, so shorter options are available. Meet: At the old Irwin Lodge above Lake Irwin. Vehicles are allowed to turn around at the lodge or drop people off, but all parking is 0.6 mile before the lodge. Please consider carpooling, as parking is limited. Director: George Crump

Sept. 5 = John Fellows Gallery Reception-Friends of Friends - 5-7 p.m. Show is from Sept. 5 - Nov. 2-Join us for the opening reception of “Friends of Friends” as we celebrate the participating artists! Enjoy a live screen-printing demo by IndyInk featuring a custom design from John Fellows, groove to a DJ set, sip on free drinks, and mingle with the artists throughout the evening.

“Friends of Friends” is a group exhibition that gathers a vibrant mix of artists working across a wide range of styles, mediums, and perspectives. While not everyone in the show knows each other personally, they’re all connected by a shared source of inspiration: time spent outdoors. Whether it’s the texture of a tree trunk or the rhythm of a trail, the influence of nature runs through each piece—sometimes subtly, sometimes boldly. Like any great art, a closer look often reveals something more. The show features an eclectic mix of media, including painting, block printing, woodworking, drawing, and spray painting. Representing creative voices from Denver, Lake Tahoe, and right here in Crested Butte, Friends of Friends is as much about connection as it is about creativity.

Sept. 6 = Oh Be Dogful Adoption Event 3-7:30 p.m.:-3 pm Meet the Dogs | 5:30 pm Screening of Saving Jones
Join us for a day of dogs on Saturday, September 6, 2025! Starting at 3 PM with an adoption event, come by the CB Center for the Arts courtyard and meet Oh Be Dogful’s adorable, adoptable dogs. We will have volunteers to answer questions about each dog and our non profit, along with snacks and beverages. You won’t want to miss this great opportunity to connect with our available dogs and maybe even find your new best
friend!
Afterwards, we are so excited to bring the award winning documentary, Saving Jones, to the Gunnison Valley. This special movie is a biographical social commentary about the abuse and discrimination of dogs as it directly relates to human abuse. Center for the Arts

Sept. 6 = Live at the Almont Resort- Diseradata-Desiderata reflects the laid-back mountain environment where they formed in Durango, Colorado. Starting out in the college scene, playing bars and house parties, they had the freedom to experiment to find their own way to create the feel-good, captivating dance music they want to share.

Blending a variety of sounds from Soul, Rock, Funk, Indie, Alternative, and Country leaves their sound without genre. The band doesn’t know how to describe it and will generally leave it up to you to decide. With their genre-defying music and irresistible energy, Desiderata will have you grooving all night long!

Sept. 6- Fall Festival of Beers & Chili Cook-Off, - Noon to 4 p.m. Mt. Crested Butte a BIG FAVORITE! The 26th Annual Mt. Crested Butte Chili and Beer Fest! at the base of the Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Sample locally made chilis, sip some of Colorado's finest craft beer... and some great bands. This is a great day.

September 7 = Bridges of the Butte---September 7 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm-The Adaptive Sports Center is hosting their annual Bridges of the Butte! This townie tour is like none other. Grab your best costumes and get ready for a 4 hour bike ride from noon-4pm on September 8th! Funds raised during Bridges of the Butte will help to provide affordable lessons, state-of-the-art equipment, and highly-trained instructors in many disciplines and disability adaptions.

Sept. 13 = Live at the Almont Resort - Bass Organics-Bass Organics is a group that consists of DJs and a team of talent that brings true creative and art to light, a mix of Riddim, Leftfield Bass, House, DnB and various sub genres of EDM can always be heard at our shows. Our artists are Kamakani, DEEZY, Jondlez and Dosed Out.

Our talented lineup of DJs and producers will take the stage at 7:30 PM and keep the energy going until late into the night. With a state-of-the-art sound system and stunning visuals, we guarantee an immersive experience that will make you dance like never before. Safe ride will be available after the show!

Sept. 16 = Fall Folk - The Ditchwalkers 5-7 p.m.-Introducing Fall Folk — a new, free music series at the Center for the Arts celebrating the rich sounds of folk music. Cozy up for intimate performances from talented artists, all set against the backdrop of crisp autumn evenings. No tickets needed. The Ditchwalkers are a homegrown Crested Butte trio featuring Matt Shugert (guitar), Madeline Shugert (banjo), and Lizzy Plotkin (fiddle). Rooted in the rhythms of mountain life, their music weaves heartfelt harmonies with acoustic instrumentation, drawing from old-time, folk, and Appalachian traditions. Sept. 18 = Cook Book Club-As part of our extended programming from the Crested Butte Wine + Food Festival, we’re savoring the tail-end of summer with a special edition of Cookbook Club! Join us for a collaborative potluck inspired by Kin: Caribbean Recipes for the Modern Kitchen by Marie Mitchell.

This gathering celebrates the bold, sun-soaked flavors of the Caribbean—perfect for bridging the seasons with bright, vibrant spices and fresh, island-inspired dishes. Sept 20, 21 = Artumn Festival and Vinotok - Lovers of fine arts and crafts will find a vast array of artisans and crafters displaying and selling their unique creations in pottery, sculpture, glass, jewelry, fashion, home décor, furniture, home accessories, and photography. The annual celebration of the Fall Solstice, will introduce new and emerging artists showcasing the latest trends in handmade crafts and fine art.  This event is located in the heart of Beautiful Downtown Crested Butte on the west side of Elk Avenue.  The show is happening on a very busy weekend as it is the height of the Autumn Fall colors and simultaneous to the popular farmers market and also the Vinotok Fall Harvest Festival.

Sept. 26 = Summer Artwalk Evening 6-9 p.m.-Leisurely stroll through the galleries of Crested Butte, experience the diverse artistic expressions of local artists, and be inspired by these special ArtWalk evenings. This is a self-guided tour of the galleries in downtown Crested Butte hosted by Artists of Crested Butte. Galleries involved have an ‘ArtWalk’ flag outside their door.

Crested Butte, CO 81224= Ethan J Perry =Ethan’s tour will feature intimate solo acoustic performances across the U.S., showcasing his unique blend of Americana, indie, and jazz. Journalist Jamie Hawkins compared Ethan’s music to “…riding a horse through the desert in space,” capturing his ethereal yet grounded sound.
