July 2 - Chalk Walk 10 a.m. - 4 pm.-The ChalkWalk, Crested Butte’s community art making event, is open to everyone! Join us on the sidewalks surrounding the Alpenglow field, just outside the Center, to create your own work of art with high quality chalk pastel.  All ages are welcome, and this year’s theme is OUTERSPACE! 
Art Making hours are 10 am – 3 pm.
Register in advance online for $15 per individual, or $25 per group.
At the door is $20 per individual and $30 per group.

The mission of the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival is to advocate for the preservation and appreciation of wildflowers. 

This festival began in 1986 through the efforts of a few insightful Crested Butte locals who envisioned a wildflower celebration in one of the most picturesque valleys in Colorado. The Festival has grown into a summer-long season of events with over 300 events offered by over 60 instructors, tour guides and volunteers.

Come to Crested Butte to enjoy the beautiful scenery and don’t forget to bring your camera!! Throughout the festival, there will be an array of activities to please everyone. You can choose from 4x4 & van tours, hikes, art classes, birding & butterflies, botany & medicinal lectures, edibles, garden tours, walks, photography classes and much more!

July 8 = Celebration of Music Gala-The dazzling Music Festival gala will be a night unlike any other as we celebrate 26 years of elevated music in our picturesque valley. Set in the heart of Crested Butte at the Center for the Arts, this ticketed fundraising event will offer an inspiring program of musical performances.

July 9 - Wildfood Feasting and Foraging (Wildflower Festival) = $60 - 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.(Wildflower Festival)-Come outdoors and explore the fascinating world of wild edibles, Discover the optimum nutrition and delicious tastes provided by plants you usually weed and throw in the compost pile. We’ll start with an herb walk to identify common tasty plants. Use these plants to create refreshing teas, nutritious salads, savory soups, and delicious additions to pasta, veggies and side dishes. Discover how to locate, identify, harvest, and prepare wild edibles. Enjoy a wild foods lunch which will include refreshing tea, wild foods salad, creamy nettle pesto with Manchego cheese and sun-dried tomato, and a delicious nopales salsa with cojita cheese and chips. We will finish up with lavender and dandelion petal shortbread. Experience the fun, health benefits, and self-reliance of eating on the wild side! Don your cowgirl boots for a fun-filled evening guaranteed to be highlight of your summer! July 12 =Vandenbusche Van Tour: The North Country, Gold, Coal, Silver, and Flowers-July 12 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm-Join us for this series of tours around Crested Butte and the Gunnison Valley featuring historian Duane Vandenbusche.  This tour will be centered around the history of The North Country: Gold, Coal, Silver, and Flowers.  Topics will include Anthracite (Smith Hill/Coal City), Oh Be Joyful Campground – early mining town, how it got its name, Poverty Gulch, Washington Gulch, Gothic, Schofield Pass – Town of Schofield, 401, West Maroon Pass, and flowers of the valley.

The 2022 Crested Butte Wine and Food Festival, now in its 12th year, is scheduled for July 20-23 and the Center’s state-of-the-art building will showcase as headquarters for many of the events. Enlighten your senses with intimate winemaker's dinners, the Crested Butte Grand Tasting, VIP lounge with highly rated wines, and a wide range of educational seminars for the novice and connoisseur alike.
The Crested Butte Wine and Food Festival is an annual fundraiser for the Crested Butte Center for the Arts, the premier visual and performing arts venue in the region. For over 30 years, the Center has been dedicated to providing arts and cultural experiences that inspire and entertain all audiences, whether they call Crested Butte home every day or just for the weekend.

Grab bites from Prieto’s Catering and other food trucks, enjoy a wildcrafting seminar at the Homestead Hut, or drop in on a variety of mini-seminars led by winemakers and sommeliers.

This is your opportunity to hear the world’s best jazz musicians in the beautiful and comfortable Crested Butte Center for the Arts.
