July 1 All day - High Mountain 3D Archery Competition
High mountain archery compatition in crested butteCrested Butte Mountain Resort and West Elk Archers will host the 4th annual summer archery competition giving archers the chance to access the beautiful Gunnison National Forest via the Red Lady Express Chairlift. Participants will take the lift up to the start of the course at 10,300’ with amazing views of the Elk Mountain Range to the north. A sight-in range will be set near the top of the lift for archers to warm up before starting the course. From there, archers will follow the course through open country and dark timber along 40 targets for a one-day competition.

Spectators and archers can stay hydrated and fuel up throughout the day at the top of Ten Peaks with burgers and brats on the grill. Additional details coming soon!

 

July 2 - 15th Annual Black & White Ball at Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum

Join us as we dance the night away, celebrating the museum moving into the iconic Tony's Conoco building. This event is very special to the museum. It is our biggest fundraiser of the year. 6:00 p.m.

July 4-RMBL's Gothic to Crested Butte 1/3 Marathon and gO Trail Run - 8:00 a.m.

Start your 4th of July off right with a run from the Gothic town site to downtown Crested Butte and support the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory. You have a choice of two runs: the classic Gothic 1/3 Marathon, which follows Gothic Road down the mountain to town on both gravel and paved road; and new this year, the 4th of July Trail Run taking you from Gothic to the town of Crested Butte via the trail system of Mt. Crested Butte, to the Upper Loop to Tony’s Trail, and eventually winding down to the heart of Elk Avenue. Each race should finish in time for you to catch the 4th of July parade downtown and enjoy the festivities!

Every Wednesday- Ends: July 19
Presented by Griggs Orthopedics, this series encourages competitors to gO ride every Wednesday with a FREE regional recreational racing series at the Evolution Bike Park.
Created in 1998 by Crested Butte Mountain Resort, the popular race series is geared for fun and competition, from beginner to expert riders. The races consist of varying lengths and difficulty to challenge riders of all abilities in either Cross Country or Downhill disciplines. The races take place on Wednesday evenings at 5:45 pm, with registration from 4:30 - 5:15 pm at Butte 66. The Youth Pump Track lap race will be offered for kids ages 6 and under at 5:15 pm. The Youth Pump Track is designed to give children the opportunity to compete like their parents in a positive and fun environment. 

The race dates for this season are June 21 and 28, as well as July 5, 12 and 19.
Competitors enjoy FREE food, Landshark Lager and raffle prizes after every race at Butte 66. Downhill competitors also receive a complimentary twilight ticket for the race!

The mission of the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival is to advocate for the preservation and appreciation of wildflowers. 

This festival began in 1986 through the efforts of a few insightful Crested Butte locals who envisioned a wildflower celebration in one of the most picturesque valleys in Colorado. The Festival has grown into a summer-long season of events with over 300 events offered by over 60 instructors, tour guides and volunteers.

Come to Crested Butte to enjoy the beautiful scenery and don’t forget to bring your camera!! Throughout the festival, there will be an array of activities to please everyone. Test your skills on the 18-hole disc golf course at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The tournament will be held on the short course located at the top of the Red Lady Express chairlift which offers a fun and fast paced challenge for all ages and abilities.

Registration is available from 9 - 10:30 am. There will be a shotgun start at 11 am.

Registration fees are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. Prices include one lift ride for the day. Head back to the base area afterwards for the awards party at Butte 66 with free raffle prizes. Plus, food and drink specials!
