from June 20- Labor Day--- The River Bar at Garlic Mike's - Right next to the Gunnison - it is a beautiful place just north of Gunnison to listen to some music! And the Italian food inside the restaurant is the best! The River Bar is open every evening from 4pm begins summer solstice - June 20--through Labor Day. Pet friendly. Live music every Friday and Saturday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Cocktails and light bar snacks at 4pm and lighter River Bar dinner menu at 5pm. Counter service only. After Labor Day: Fridays and Saturdays through the GRAND FINALE SEPTEMBER 30th!!
Aug. 1 - Swing Dancing at the Center for the Arts-Swing Dance Lesson: 6:15–7:15 PM-Get ready to swing the night away!-Join us at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts for a lively evening of swing dancing and classic jazz with the After Midnight Jazz Band on August 1!- The night kicks off with a swing dance lesson from 6:15 to 7:15 PM, presented in partnership with the Crested Butte School of Dance. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or a complete beginner, this is a fun and welcoming opportunity to learn the basics—or brush up on your moves—before the live music begins. Doors open at 7 PM, and the show starts promptly at 8 PM. Come early, grab a drink from the bar, and get ready to dance the night away. Bring a partner, or come solo—no dance experience or partner required!- Once the music starts, you’ll be swept into the golden age of jazz by the After Midnight Jazz Band, Denver’s premier swing ensemble. With their tight arrangements, toe-tapping rhythms, and big band sound inspired by legends like Benny Goodman and Count Basie, After Midnight brings infectious energy and vintage charm to every performance. Their authentic style and joyful presence make them one of the most sought-after swing bands in the region.

Individuals and businesses make it possible to hold such a wonderful event and raise the funds we need to continue changing lives. We need you. Our programs need you. August 6,13,20,27 - Yoga in the Garden - join the town of Mt. Cb for an hour of free yoga with instructors from the CB Yoga Co-op. 12-1 p.m.
August 6 = HCCA Hike- Scarp Ridge - Rising above Lake Irwin is the very popular escarpment known as Scarp Ridge. A relatively short hike with some climbing gets us to spectacular views of the Elk Mountains and an altitude of 12,200 ft. Please be fully acclimated for your health and enjoyment. Starts 8:30 a.m.

August 13 = HCCA Hike- West Brush Creek - This creekside hike takes us gently toward Teocalli Mountain, whose shoulder provides a beautiful spot for lunch, with views into the Maroon Bells Wilderness. Starts 8:30 a.m.
August 15-17 9:00 am to 5:00 pm – Outerbike- The BEST Bike Demo Event in the Universe.
August 20= HCCA Hike- Crystal Mill - Hike from Schofield Park down past Devil’s Punchbowl to the historic town of Crystal and its calendar-perfect Crystal Mill. Getting there is relatively easy—coming back is all uphill, so be prepared for the climb.Starts 8:30 a.m.
August 21, 22,23,28, 29 30 = -Crested Butte Mountain Theater- Kimberly Akimbo- a coming of age story
Performances for this show, a first for Firebird’s Shakespeare in the Park series, will take place on both ends of the valley. Shows on the first weekend (August 23rd and 24th) will take place at our traditional location of the Crested Butte Railroad Depot while the second weekend (August 30th and 31st) will be at the Quigley Bandshell on the Western Colorado University campus. Keep in mind that this will be an outdoor show, so be sure to bring raingear, chairs, and/or blankets with you! More information to follow!
August 27 = HCCA Hike- Oh Be Joyful -Our hike founder, Don Baker, loved to hike Oh-Be-Joyful at the end of each season. We keep with tradition, and hike up this beautiful valley in the Raggeds Wilderness (that HCCA helped designate) to a lovely lunch spot with spectacular views. A perfect end to our 33rd season of HCCA Hikes! Starts 8:30 a.m.
August 30- = Grand Traverse Run and Bike- The Summer Grand Traverse presented by Crested Butte Nordic includes a trail run from Mt. Crested Butte to Aspen and a mountain bike race from Aspen to Mt. Crested Butte.
